WHAT IS LIFE? #24 Tim Freke and Ervin Laszlo
Friday Sep 25, 2020
Friday Sep 25, 2020
It was a honour to chat with the remarkable Ervin Laszlo. We discussed his notion of the Akashic field of information that underlies the universe, which resonates closely with ideas I am exploring in my Unividualist philosophy. It's a short episode because Ervin is now 88. He contacted me immediately afterward to say 'I enjoyed our chat — truly substantive. The deepest questions.' I hope you agree

WHAT IS LIFE? #23 Tim Freke and Robert Saltzman
Sunday Aug 16, 2020
Sunday Aug 16, 2020
Robert is a depth psychotherapist who had an interesting response to my previous episode in this series with Rupert Spira so I decided to connect. We discuss our mutual desire to be radically honest and explore our shared frustration with aspects of the 'spiritual’ world. In that spirit, Robert asked me to include this message from him with this video: "At one point, I mentioned a Rupert Spira video in which I said that Rupert had intimidated a questioner with false logic. I did see that. I went on to say that Rupert had left someone standing a microphone crying. About that, I am not sure. I may have seen that happening on a different video featuring a different spiritual teacher and conflated the two videos. If so, my sincere apologies." ---Robert Saltzman Robert Saltzman is a photographer and retired depth psychotherapist and the author of two books on the human experience of awakening, The Ten Thousand Things (2017) and Depending On No-Thing (2019). He lives in Todos Santos, Mexico with his wife, Catanya, three donkeys and a herd of cats.

This is a series of private philosophical conversations that I have made public. In this episode Rupert expresses the essence of the non-dual understanding of existence with his characteristic clarity, ... and I explain why I've come to question this worldview and invite him to consider an alternative possibility. You can hear more about the realisation that made me change my mind here https://youtu.be/NKXM2hHUESs

From an early age, Rupert Spira was deeply interested in the nature of reality and the source of lasting peace and happiness. He began to meditate at the age of seventeen and spent the next twenty years immersed in the teachings of classical Advaita Vedanta. In 1997 he met his teacher, Francis Lucille, who introduced him to the Direct Path approach of Atmananda Krishna Menon and the Tantric tradition of Kashmir Shaivism. More importantly, he indicated the means whereby one may recognise the source of lasting peace and happiness in oneself. Rupert lives in the United Kingdom. He has written several books and holds regular meetings and retreats online, as well as in Europe and the United States. http://www.rupertspira.com
